Message from President APPNA Alliance 2008
In the name of God, The Beneficent, The Merciful
"Greatness is not where we stand but what direction We are moving in." (Anonymous)
Asaalamo-Alaikum APPNA Alliance Members,
RukhsanaI would like to give my sincerest thanks for allowing me the opportunity to serve as APPNA Alliance President of 2009. I would also like to thank my cabinet, Samrina Haseeb, Rania Asif, and Fatima Elahi for their support and trust throughout the year.
It has been a fantastic year for APPNA Alliance. Our main event at the Summer Meeting in San Francisco was a huge success. Our keynote speaker for the evening was Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, one of America’s most prominent and esteemed Islamic Scholars. He spoke beautifully to the large number in attendance about our cultural and religious role in the American community.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve you. I believe the Alliance has an extraordinary potential that can be realized by uniting the invaluable human and economic resources within our membership.
My focus this year will be to unite us all and to shine a light on the contributions of our membership to their communities. This shall be achieved at the grass-root level around the nation by establishing Alliance chapters at the state and local level.
We have embarked on a journey to give our members an enriching and invigorating experience. It is a tedious process but with your involvement and feedback we shall achieve our goals, Inshallah.
We are currently working on strengthening the structure of our organization and also are working to introduce several clubs and study circles on the APPNA Alliance venue. These would be open to the members of APPNA, Alliance, SAYA and CAPPNA:
  • Health Awareness and community outreach program
  • Book and Writing Club
  • Investment Club
  • Youth Development program
  • Quranic Study and Reflection circle
  • Art promotion club
  • Business and Entrepreneurship
Further information regarding these projects will soon be available on the website that is in the works.
Please help strengthen your organization by getting involved and encouraging others to do the same. Together, we can achieve the unachievable and become a steadfast community that stands united. In the end where we stand would be the product of our efforts. Always feel free to e-mail your comments to me at appnaalliance08@yahoo.com.Thank you for your confidence and involvement.

Sincerely,
Mehreen Atiq
President APPNA Alliance
